Things Have been Super Lovely since GRANT STREET Gave us LOVE:

Whuddup Folks from the Collective HipHop Nation, Local Lafayette and Louisiana HipHop Communities, as well as our Brothers and Sisters from every Walk of Life??? It's obvious by you Reading this that you appreciate what we're doing here, because you've continued to Support the Cause and the Movement for 16 Editions of the #HipHopInTheFlats Monthly, as well as the 2 Editions of SOUNDCLASH: LAFAYETTE that we've put on in the past couple months...

On the whole, the scene in Lafayette Louisiana has kept going and thriving through our collective work....With Swell and myself putting together this format, we've found credibility and respect being achieved in abundance from our peers....We've helped "Bridge the Gap" with the help of our Brothers and Sisters from Baton Rouge and New Orleans respectively, and we continue to help out Our People, the HipHop Heads, with every chance we get...#HipHopInTheFlats has turned out to be an Underground Railroad of HipHop Networking...It is at the disposal of any Grinding artist that Loves his or her craft enough to make Business relationships, contacts, and Collaborations come to fruition...I'm pretty proud of all that we have accomplished, but it must not Stop Here...With your Help, we will be Bridging the Gap between Jackson, MS and Denver CO as well within the next upcoming months...
IN SHORT.........YOU WILL SEE major HipHop Artists starting to realize Lafayette's not just a Blip on the Map...It's actually a Viable option for them to stop through and rock a show in our Humble and Supportive town....

The Onus truly is on Us my friends and family...Will we continue to make these things come to be? Or will we fold under the pressure because we become lack luster and unamused by the length of struggle necessary to accomplish such an arduous task...Personally, I want LAFAYETTE, LA. to be united and achieve the Greatness that I see in our Near future...All I ask for is your help in Achieving it...

Thank you for your continued Support...And Thank you for Doing the Little things that matter Most....

Faith Hope and Love,

Wyzdom360 of WyzWRD's

The 10th Edition was a SMASH HIT!!! 11th on the Way!!!

What up People??? This is ya boy Wyz 360 coming back to you live once again...this time for the update on how Last month went...We had some last minute cancelations on the lineup, but things still went SUPER Well...The Homie Whygee from Denver Colorado came and rocked with us...When I say he exudes HipHop, it's not an understatement...

Mr. F and Corey D quite possibly had their best performance thus far...it was their 5th time gracing the bill for HipHop in the Flats...

Rabbit rocked for the first time with us...I see a lot of potential in our Lil' Homie...Definitely an underground artist on the rise...

WyzWRD's even did a set...YES...That's right...Me and Swelly actually performed for a change...It was pretty dope...Especially because we performed a song we'd never done before...one that actually is off the WyzWRD's album "Don't be stupid..."

Mr. Jones and his new collaborative effort rocked with us as well...It was good to see him coming back through to the event...Good to see you get rid of the Sandbag finally...lmao....

We even had Ladies get in free all night long....Needless to say, there was about a 10-1 ratio of Women to men....lol...I wasn't complaining...haa haa

So in Summation...If you missed the show last month, you really missed some of the Underground's Dopest Emcees...From Louisiana and Colorado, plus first time performances of singles never heard yet by the public...It was all the way Live...Make sure you don't miss this month....

Just a little Reminder of who's on the bill this month...

and P.S......Ladies Get in Free till 10...after that, you're on your Own....So Get There EARLY!!!

Peace and Blessings,

360

HipHop in the Flats:The 9th Edition(August 2010)

Whuddup Whuddup my Fellow HipHop Heads, Listeners, Connoisseurs and Aficionados??? This is your Boy Wyzdom360 coming back to you to hip you to the lineup for this month's HipHop in the Flats...

This month's lineup goes as follows:

TRUTH UNIVERSAL (NOLA)
A staple in the New Orleans Hip Hop community, Truth Universal has been a leader on the southern Hip Hop scene for more than a decade. While he calls the flourishing New Orleans Hip Hop underground home, Truth has an international perspective that he brings to his music through his birth and childhood in Diego Martin, Trinidad.

Truth has shared the stage with the likes of Talib Kweli, dead prez, Mos Def, The Roots, Luciano, Zion I and many more. On July 6th 2010 Truth Universal released Guerrilla Business,” the highly anticipated follow-up EP to his debut album, “Self-Determination.” The record includes production by N.O. Bricks, Gensu Dean(Brand Nubian, David Banner), Prospekt, Mr. Nick, and Japan’s DJ Himuki(Guilty Simpson, Buff1, Tableek).

www.truthuniversal.com

MC JAY (NOLA)
Known as the Parrish President, hailing from New Orleans EAST, Chalmette to be exact. Jay has been in the HipHop game for a minute, and has held it down in New Orleans for years. You can catch him at Venues such as The Howling Wolf, The House of Blues, The Blue Nile, The Warehouse, and the list goes on.

Intelligence (NOLA)
This New Orleans emcee dazzles cats with his Freestyle performances, ripping shows from start to finish coming straight off the top of the dome...He's not like these cats that say they freestyle, but yet they spit writtens...Kid is real...

Gambit and Skrap Da Chief (Lafayette, La.)
Young, but no rookies to the scene...These cats have been holding it down at HipHop in the Flats for a while now having performed at 5 of the 9 events that have been held...They've drawn praise from fellow artists as well as the crowds that rock with us. Though they're relatively just starting in their careers, These Cats get it in!

PEE-WEE and Smiley T (Lafayette, La.)
Veterans in the local HipHop/Rap world, Pee-Wee and Smiley T have that raw mix of Technical ability and street stories that keep you engaged...You might find yourself reminiscing of the Ghetto Boys or 8Ball and MJG yet knowing that their talent is definitely current...However, They can't be confused for new-bees...

http://www.myspace.com/peeweehiphop

http://www.myspace.com/madelinehustla

Gurple Goul-Aid (Lafayette, La.)
Their Futuristic beats, mixed with the ability to keep a crowd attentive like a Master of Ceremonies is definitely a testament to their 90's HipHop Roots...Gurple Goul-Aid (with 2 of the founding Members of "6th Element") has quickly become a crowd favorite over the past 2 events...If you wanna shake your Groove thang, and get down to fun and creative wordsmiths at the same time...This is a group you won't want to miss...

So keep it 100, We can't wait to see you there...IT's HIP HOP.....IN THE FLATS!!!

Peace,

360

HipHop in the Flats: 8th Edition(July 2010)

Whuddup People??? This is ya boy 360 coming back to you once again...I've got some GREAT news for ya...Coming down to perform at HipHop in the Flats this month from the NOLA will be none other than:

GPC aka Guerilla Publishing Company
(made up of fellow emcees Elespee Elohiem and Mike aka the Cali Obzrvr)

and

TheSeKondElement

...If you haven't heard either of these acts, I suggest you check them out on a couple of the social networks...check it out...

GPC:

But like I was saying though....These artists hail from New Orleans Louisiana, via many other places, California and Louisiana being primary spots...Their styles are eclectic and you can definitely see old school influences such as MC Lyte, Run DMC, and Wu Tang Clan just as much as you can recognize each of their own personalities shining through in their craft....With no further adieu I'll leave by saying this...Come check out the show on Wednesday, July 21st at SADIES DOWNTOWN LAFAYETTE on Jefferson Street...they'll be there as well as Lafayette underground Artists such as Mr. F and Corey D, and The Gurple Goul-Aids...

If you Love True School HipHop, then this is the place to be....

Peace,

Wyzdom360

Inaugural Post:

What Up People? This is ya Boy 360 coming to you live from the other side of this screen. As you may or may not know by now, myself and Swell make up a Collective known as WyzWRD's...It's funny how it came to be, but basically it stemmed from both of us Loving HipHop so much that we couldn't let it die in our Home Town of Lafayette Louisiana...We continued to reach out to the people living this way of life...Breathing, participating, making, creating, expressing themselves through, and rejuvenating HipHop and thus many bridges have been built throughout the world by us...

To give you a little info on how to pronounce the name, it goes a little something like this:

Wyz=WISE
WRD's=Words

you put them together and there you have it...It stems from a combination of our names(whether government or of the On-stage variety)...We've been in this for a while now, matter of fact, Pre Bling Rap era...Can you picture that??? lol j/k...but look...We believe in this culture, as do many of our compatriots...We believe the old adage of "what you put forth, is what you will get back"...Love is what inspires us...Love of the Culture, love of our family, friends and adopted family members...Love of the Music, the Dancing, the Graphiti/paintings, the Film, The Literature, and the Sculptures ...It's a way of Life...Thus, WyzWRD's Presents was born, and in turn HipHop in the Flats as well...HipHop in the Flats is an event that is designed to give people a chance to share their voice through this awesome art form...People that didn't have a vehicle before to be heard...People just like each of you reading this blog...The purpose was to spread the Love that we've received playing Festival International De Louisiana, or various venues in Lafayette, New Orleans and Baton Rouge Such as Sadies Downtown, Maison De Musique, The Howlin' Wolf, The Warehouse, Club Culture, 600 Main, and The Blue Nile...

I'll conclude this Inaugural post by summing it up like this...If you LOVE HipHop, the Culture, the People, the way of life...Keep in touch, cuz there are much bigger things on the horizon...

PEACE,

Wyzdom360
